Our Story
Carey Insurance Group was founded in 1973 by James E. “Jim” Carey Jr., who spent 38 years serving clients as an insurance agent. His son, Scott J. Carey, joined the agency in 1992 and worked alongside his father before taking ownership of the business in 2011.
Under Scott’s leadership, Carey Insurance Group has continued to grow while remaining rooted in the values on which it was founded. Through the acquisition and expansion of agencies across Delaware and Maryland, Carey Insurance Group now serves clients from multiple locations throughout the region.
More than 50 years after our founding, our focus remains the same: building lasting relationships, providing dependable service, and helping our clients make informed decisions about their insurance.
